Caring for your silk piece
Silk is a delicate fabric distinguished by its nobility and fluidity. Whether it's a silk shirt, a camisole with thin straps, flowy pants, or a lingerie dress, a garment made of silk requires a lot of care and attention to preserve its beauty and longevity.
Discover our care tips and advice for keeping your silk clothes soft and shiny.
Cleaning
To clean your silk jacket or shirt, we recommend handwashing rather than using a machine to avoid wrinkling or damaging the fibers.
Wash your garment inside out in lukewarm water, using a special silk detergent or a small amount of mild soap. Gently agitate the water with your hands to remove dirt without rubbing to avoid damaging the silk fibers, and let it soak for a maximum of 5 minutes. Silk is a delicate material that can shrink if left in water for too long. Rinse thoroughly with clear water.
To dry your silk garment, gently press it without wringing to remove excess water. Lay it flat on a clean towel and roll it gently to absorb any remaining moisture. Let it air dry by hanging it on a hanger, away from direct sunlight, which could cause fabric fading. Do not use a clothes dryer for your silk garment.
If you have particularly delicate pieces such as silk tops or long-sleeved shirts adorned with feathers, or stubborn stains, it is recommended to entrust the care of your garments to professionals or a specialized dry cleaning service. These professionals have the expertise and knowledge to clean silk gently while preserving its splendor.
When a stain occurs, treat it as quickly as possible. Use a clean, damp cloth to gently blot the stained area, dabbing softly to avoid damaging the fabric. Avoid exposing your silk piece to a heat source, as it could accelerate the stain-setting process.
Care and tidying
Iron your silk garment inside out, using a low heat setting, preferably while the silk is still damp. Use a pressing cloth to avoid damaging the fibers and prevent burning the fabric. We do not recommend using steam on silk with your iron.
We recommend that you keep your silk items in a cool, dry place, away from dust and direct sunlight. Silk is a delicate, supple fabric, so it's best to fold your silk caracos, trousers or shirts carefully rather than hanging them up, to avoid distorting them.
Luxurious and delicate, women's silk clothing exudes elegance and timeless chic. When cared for properly, our high-quality silk pieces will maintain their luster season after season.
Avoid perfume
In addition to dust, heat, and sunlight, another significant enemy of silk shirts is perfume. When wearing an elegant silk blouse from MAX&MOI, make sure not to spray perfume directly onto it.
Indeed, components such as alcohol, dyes, and oils found in perfumes can leave traces on silk and damage the delicacy of the fabric. Therefore, it is preferable to apply your perfume behind the ears and wrists rather than directly on silk garments.
Luxurious and elegant, silk pieces are undoubtedly among the most distinguished fashion outfits for women. Whether it's a jacket, a camisole, or a silk shirt, they have risen to the rank of essential items in the female wardrobe. That's why, at MAX&MOI, we have embraced this heritage to offer you silk creations that reflect our style: chic and decidedly modern. The palette of vibrant colors highlights the natural beauty of silk, enhancing the nuances of this soft, luminous, and exceptionally high-quality organic material.
As elegant as it is versatile, silk proves to be the ideal ally to enhance any outfit. Easy to wear, it blends perfectly with the key pieces from our women's collections, such as cashmere sweaters, wool pants, leather leggings, as well as Furever faux fur coats and jackets.
