At MAX&MOI, denim meets knitwear and Furever faux fur in distinctive creations that combine textures, volumes and contrasts. These combinations of materials, signatures of the Maison savoir-faire, require care adapted to each composition.
Discover the essential steps to preserve the softness of the materials, the shape of the denim and the finishes of your pieces throughout the seasons.
Denim, knitwear, Furever: three materials, three requirements
Denim, knitwear and Furever faux fur each have their own characteristics.
While denim stands out for its structure and durability, knitwear requires greater care to preserve its suppleness and shape, while Furever faux fur needs special attention to maintain its softness and volume.
For a MAX&MOI piece combining several materials, care must respect the requirements of each one. The garment’s own care label always determines the appropriate steps.
How to care for a denim and knitwear piece?
• Cleaning. Knitwear is more delicate than denim, so never follow the care instructions for denim alone. Opt for dry cleaning by a specialist.
• Drying. After dry cleaning, air the piece on a hanger. If the care label allows washing, dry it flat to avoid stretching the knitwear. Never use a tumble dryer.
• Ironing. Inside out, at a low temperature, without direct contact with the knitwear. To reduce a crease, opt for steam from a distance.
• Storage. Hang structured jackets on a wide hanger to avoid marking the shoulders, and fold pieces where knitwear predominates to prevent deformation.
How to care for a denim and faux fur piece?
• Cleaning. Dry clean by a specialist. In case of a stain, do not rub: take the piece to your dry cleaner promptly.
• Drying. Air the piece away from any source of heat. Gently brush the faux fur with a soft brush, or use a hair dryer on the cool setting to restore its volume and shine.
• Ironing. Avoid any direct contact between the iron and the faux fur: heat can alter the texture and appearance of its fibres. Iron the denim sections at a low temperature and inside out.
• Storage. Hang on a hanger, under a fabric garment bag, without folding. When travelling, fold it inside out, with the lining on the outside.
What to Avoid
with a Bi-Material Piece
• Wash a piece at home when its care label specifies dry cleaning.
• Use bleach or a bleaching agent.
• Put the piece in a tumble dryer or place it on a radiator.
• Rub the knitwear or faux fur, as this may cause pilling or flatten it.
• Hang a damp piece, especially when knitwear is the predominant material.
• Iron the knitwear or faux fur directly.
• Fold or compress the faux fur.
